Mauritius is surrounded by a spine of pointed high ground, long extended beaches and a typical weather which attracts tourists all the year round. But what Mauritius has finest of all is hotels, and that has much to do with the pleasant Mauritians who effortlessly work in them.

Royal Palm

Pet named the Royal Calm, this is the island’s sophisticated hotel, a destination with exceptional taste. The only sounds you would hear are cooing of doves and twittering of words, the hush of the sea and the dangling of a piano at sunset. Many visitors are regular, and most of the staff has provided services for at least a decade. It is an elite hotel and people love staying here. The setting is just right; on a personal white-sand beach just a short distance away from Grand Baie, the nearest thing to a resort in Mauritius. All the rooms and suites are renovated and are absolutely with the new looking.

Le Prince Maurice

Constructed out of dark wood and volcanic stone, the Mauritius’s only hotel that is pillowed from the actual world by approximately150 acres of twisted greenery. It has approximately 89 well appointed and furnished suites, a large number of them overlooking the nice-looking and beautiful little beach, some of them above the lagoon, are well taken care by an army of well trained 350 staff who are exceptionally hospitable.

Le Prince has a wonderful pool and two restaurants, one of them hovering on the water and accessible by a footpath through the mangroves.

Taj Exotica

This is the only hotel in Mauritius with all-villa hotel and is to be found on an expansive tree-shaded beach facing Tamarin Bay, and has been intended for outdoor living. Each of the 66 villas has an open living room with espresso machine, surround-sound DVD/CD and a big flat screened LCD television leading onto a private garden with a pool and a double bed.

You can enjoy dinner in your garden, on the beach, at the end of the day and completely relax yourself.

Paradis/Dinarobin

These two hotels together share the five-mile extended beach in the island’s picturesque and lovely southwest corner. If you love playing golf, pick Paradis, where the coconut lined 18-hole route is just a minute away from the reception. Very close to it is the less significant, less chaotic Dinarobin, which has a grand new spa in a fabulous setting alongside the volcanic inclines of Le Morne.
