Meenakshi Temple

“Meenakshi temple”the magical monument is located in the heart of Madurai the oldest and second largest city of Tamil Nadu. The meenakshi temple is one of the largest and most ancient monuments. Madurai is the actual site where the wedding between Shiva and Meenakshi took place. It is believed that Lord Shiva had instructed Pandya in a dream and asked him to build a temple and a city at the spot Dhananjaya would indicate Kulasekhara did so and originated the temple and city.
