How to Spend a Weekend in Dallas

How to Spend a Weekend in Dallas

If you plan on spending some time in Dallas you’ll want to get as much done as you can. You will want to see all of the sights and do all of those touristy things. However, if you are only going to be spending a weekend in Dallas you might feel limited as to what you can do.

The good news is this article will help you to enjoy your whole weekend in Dallas, ensuring you don’t feel like you’ve missed out on anything.

Uptown

Complete with tall buildings and many very good restaurants, Uptown Dallas is a great way to spend some time. It’s even better if the hotel you got on oyorooms.com, a much-loved hotel chain in the US is located in or close to Uptown.

When you reach Uptown Dallas, head to the public trolleys which are free and will take you from one end of McKinney Avenue to another.  If you would like to spend a bit of time somewhere more natural you can always head to Klyde Warren Park. The good news is you can reach the Park when you ride on a public trolley.

Bishop Arts District

While the Bishop Arts District is not exactly in the center of Dallas, it is a lovely place to visit. This is perhaps the ideal area to visit if you would like a quick break from city life. Considered to be the most independent area of Dallas, the district is home to many art galleries and independent boutiques. This is a good place to spend a Saturday afternoon when the center of Dallas is just a little too busy.

Cowboy Hall of Fame

Although the Cowboy Hall of Fame is located in Fort Worth rather than Dallas, it is worth visiting. Take the Trinity Railway Express and head to the Fort Worth Stockyards. With $5 admission (Correct at the time of writing), you’ll see a lot of great tributes to the Wild West.  In addition to this, you can enjoy a cattle drive should you wish to as there’s two every day.

Make sure you take your camera with you as you’ll probably get a good few shots!

Enjoy a Meal in a Fancy Restaurant

Finally, why not end your weekend with a meal in one of Dallas’ upmarket restaurants? There are many to choose from and you could just find yourself in your new favorite restaurant. Some of the best restaurants include Uchi Dallas, Truluck’s Seafood, Steak and Crab House, and Bob’s Steak and Chop House. Alternatively, there are are some cheaper restaurants around if you want to spend a bit less cash but still enjoy a good meal.

As you can see, there is plenty for you to do on your weekend in Dallas. Just make sure that you know what time your flights are and how you’re going to get to the airport. Once you know where you need to be and when you can sit back and relax and enjoy your time in the wonderful city of Dallas, Texas.
